Hisashi Mari was born in Tokyo, Japan. He studied informatics at Shizuoka University and started his career at an advertising agency in Tokyo. He graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan University Business School in 2014 (MBA). He worked for Hakuhodo Inc. since 2019 and as an Executive Manager since 2022. He graduated from the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Tokyo Metropolitan University in 2024 (Ph.D. in Business Administration). He works as an Associate Professor at Faculty of Management and Information Sciences, Department of Management and Information Sciences / Graduate School of Engineering, Department of Social System Engineering, Fukui University of Technology, Japan since 2025. His specialization is marketing.
